Exceeding Workplace Medical Standards

TriMedical has been helping employers and employees with private occupational medical assessments since 2018. Our aim is to help our clients meet medical standards that are mandatory in the workplace. 

Services offered by TriMedical:

·       Marine Medicals: Upon successful completion of a marine medical, we issue Marine Seafarer Medical Certificates, following Transport Canada requirements that every seafarer and mariner in BC have mandatory certifications to work on commercial waterborne vessels. Cost $200.

·       Periodic Drivers Medicals: A certificate will be issued after examining the driver’s general health and checking for pre-existing medical conditions. Cost: $200, $180 for BC Truck Drivers Members.

·       Railway Medicals: Upon successful completion of a railway medical, we issue Medical Certificates, following Transport Canada requirements. Cost $200.

·       Periodic Medicals: Some positions require regular physical exams, ensuring the employee meets regulatory medical standards for their employment. Cost varies with the industry.

·       Firefighters and Law Enforcement Medicals: As a condition of employment, firefighters and law enforcement officers in BC are required to take a medical. Cost covered by the employer’s contract.

·       Worker Injury and WCB Claims: Cost by WSBC. 

·       Treatment of Motor Vehicle Accidents, including ICBC claims. Cost by ICBC.

·       Occupational Medical Assessmentsfor case management, return-to-work assessments, WCAT-Appeals and Insurer medicals. Please inquire as to cost as it varies.

·       Independent Medical Examsproviding third-party evaluation for cardiology, occupational medicine, rehabilitation medicine and psychiatry. Please inquire as to cost as it varies. 

·       Pre-employment Medicalsfor employees requiring a physical exam and lab tests in order to finalize employment. 

For those who oversee safety sensitive positions such as firefighters, pilots, and police, as well as employees who may be sick, injured or have mental health concerns, our qualified occupational physicians provide medical clearance and/or guidance to establish whether an employee can safely perform their duties.
