Marine (Seafarer) Medical Examination

TriMedical physicians are certified by Transport Canada to conduct pre-employment, periodic, and return-to-work medicals for mariners. Certification, with-or-without limitations, will be provided to the seafarer at the conclusion of the test. The completed marine medical examination report will be sent to the Marine Personnel Standards, Pilotage & Medicine Branch of Transport Canada Marine Safety and Security for review and issuance of a marine medical certificate and/or a supporting letter.

TriMedical offers assessments at a competitive industry rate. However, marine medical examination costs are dependent on the specific requirements of each case.

Who pays for the service?
The cost of a marine medical examination falls outside the coverage provided by MSP. However, if your employer covers the costs, TriMedical can offer direct billing.
